My GGF from Delaware joined the 34th NY Light Artillery, Roemer's Battery,(orig. Bat. L, 2nd NY). This unit was involved in various battles until the end of the Civil War in 1865; participated at Petersburg, Cedar Mtn., Sulphur Springs, Manassas, and Fredericksburg, VA; also at Vicksburg, Jacksonville and Knoxville, MS. Joseph came home, married and had four sons, one stepdaughter and resided with his family in Stanton, DE. I'll learn more once documents from NARA rec'd.
